PUBLICATIONS

Performing education propaganda and promoting environmental information through publications is one of the functions of Environment Council. The Council had issued the following publications in 2005:

Report on the State of the Environment of Macao -2005 (Chinese and Portuguese version)

Part of the information in the report was provided by different government departments and private organizations every year.

The Report on the State of the Environment of Macao systematically and comprehensively analyses the current environmental and other conditions of Macao, the environmental problems that Macao faces, and suggests relevant responsive measures. Thus the report enables Macao citizens better understand the environmental condition of Macao before making any environmental strategy. Thus the report can provide citizens of reference base.

Just as the past, the Report on the State of the Environment of Macao - 2005 was published in Chinese, Portuguese and English version. Books and CD-ROMs have been produced. Reports can also be browsed through Environment Council website (www.ambiente.gov.mo).

Activities Report of Environment Council - 2004

The Activities Report of Environment Council - 2004 was publicated in October. It concludes the important activities held by Environment Council in the year. They can be used for goal and work evaluation or as a blueprint for enhancing the quality in future work.

Knowing about Ozone

Environment Council of Macao SAR with authorized patent from Institute for the Environment of Portugal, the Chinese version of Knowing about Ozone was jointly published by both entities. The book included the introduction of the basic knowledge of ozone, differences between ozone in the stratospheric ozone and the troposphere, and the issues in the impact of tropospheric ozone to human health and living creatures.

Green Hotel

The Green Hotel published by Environment Council, was a book specially designed as a practical guide for the hotel industry in Macao. It was hoped that the book could encourage the hotel industry positively seeking for the environmental protection measures that match the industry development. In considering to the commonly used languages in Macao hotels are Chinese and English, the book was published in these two versions.
