The Joint-liaison Group of Pan-Pearl River Delta Region Cooperation launched the 1^st Contest of Photography and Articles Writing on Environment of "Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, Green Region and Harmonious Motherland" started at September of 2006, aiming to arouse public awareness on the importance of environmental issues as well as to promote cooperation on environment field in Pan-Pearl River Delta Region.

     The Environment Council of Macao Special Administrative Region is a co-organizer of this event together with environmental protection institutions of 8 Provinces (Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan), the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

     All citizens of the region can register for this contest. Aiming to satisfy all participants' needs, the organizing entity has decided to extend submission deadline for writings and/or photographs up to 30^th of March in 2007. Winners of the contest will be given participation certificates, prizes and awarded collection of works. The awarded works will be disclosed on the websites of all environmental protection institutions mentioned above.
