Literary contest "Climate Changes"

Regulation

1. Organization: Environment Council and the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau.

2. Aim:Motivate youth to acknowledge climate changes phenomenon and its impact on their daily lives, environmental protection issues, perspectives over climate changes, environmental protection and participation on environmental protection activities.

3. Required work content: View over climate changes and Environmental Protection, title must be given by the author.

4. Format: no requirement.

5. Number of characters: 1000 characters for primary, 2500 characters for secondary.

6. Groups: Includes primary and secondary.
   
   • Primary group: studying at primary school of Macao.
   • Secondary group: studying at secondary schools of Macao.

7. Date of submission: before 30^th June 2008.

8. Works delivery and place:
   
   • Works ( in A4 format, printed or written) might be sent by mail (Post Office's dispatch date will be considered) or submitted to Environment Council, Alameda Dr. Carlos D'Assumpção, no. 393 to 437, 10^th floor, Macao, or the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau at Rampa do Observatório, Taipa Grande.
   • By email to webmaster@ambiente.gov.mo or meteo@smg.gov.mo.
   • Works must mention the group, participant's name, address, telephone, email as well as "Literary contest, Climate Changes", school and grade.
   • No limits for the number of works for submission.

9. Jury: Representatives of the Environment Council and the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau.

10. Place and date of prize delivery: To be further announced.

11. Prizes:
    
    • Primary group: 1^stprize - MOP$1,000.00; 2^ndprize - MOP$800.00; 3^rdprize - MOP$500.00; 10 honorable mentions, coupons of MOP$100.00 for books.
    • Secondary group: 1^stprize - MOP$2,000.00; 2^ndprize - MOP$1,500.00; 3^rdprize - MOP$1,000.00; Honorable mentions, coupons of MOP$200.00 for books.

12. Remarks:
    
    • All works must be original with respect to the competitors' authorship and have never been published.
    • All submitted works will not be returned and the organizing committee reserves the copyright to use them without author's consent.
    • 1^st, 2^nd 3^rd prizes shall not be attributed to the same participant and each participant can only get two honorable mentions.
    • All decision rights are reserved to the jury with regard to final result, consequently complaints will not be accepted.
    • All participants shall agree with terms of the present regulation, otherwise the organizing committee reserves the right to cancel the participation of any contestant.
    • Irrespective of the number of works submitted by each competitor, only one work per participant can be awarded.
    • The organizing committee reserves the right to modify the terms of the present regulation.
