"Preserve natural resources - Bring your own bag while shopping"

    The campaign "Preserve natural resources - Bring your own bag while shopping" was held from 5th June to 31st August by the Environment Council. The Council distributed free ecological bags to the population at several public places and some shops that collaborated in this campaign. This campaign aimed at motivating citizens to use ecological bags for carrying their purchases, thus reducing the amount of produced waste.

    The Environment Council had previously distributed bags at 3 shops. As the bag distribution was welcomed by the population, the action will be continued till the end of the campaign in the following places: 8th July at 16:00 - Rotunda dos Três Candeeiros; 15th July at 16:00 - Bookstore Seng Kwong Lda; at Rua Pedro Nolasco Silva 43; 22nd July at 16:00 - Rua 4 at Bairro Iao Hon; 29th July at 16:00 - Largo do Tempo Pak Tai, Taipa; 1st August at 16:00 - Supermarket Tai Fung, at Rua de Évora 427, G/F, New World Garden Building; 5th August at 16:00 - Plaza Cultural Macau Ltd, at Av. Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida, 32; 12th August at 16:00 - Supermarket Dah Chong Hong, at Estrada de Coelho do Amaral 90A-90C, Nag Ming Building; 19th August at 16:00 - Bookstore Wan Tat, at Estrada da Areia Preta, 23, G/F; 26th August at 16:00 - Benvindo Supermarket Ltd, at Av. Sidónio Pais, 48; and 29th August at 16:00 -Comercial Agency Soi Cheong Lda., at Rampa dos Cavaleiros, 11-13, Jardim Sun Yick Building. Citizens might get the free bags at above location while stock last.

    For that campaign, the Environment Council counted on the collaboration of the following entities: Macao General Union of Neighbours Associations; Macao Federation of Trade Unions; Macao Women's Association; Macao Chong Wa Students' Association; Macao Scouts' Association; Macao Flying Eagle; and also the support of 58 shops.

    Along the campaign "Preserve natural resources - Bring your own bag while shopping", the citizens who brought their own bag when shopping at referred places obtained a lucky draw ticket for being stamped, which could be reused on following purchases. When ticket was fully stamped (6 stamps), they were entitled to participate in the lucky draw, which included prizes amounting Mop$ 11,000.00. Participation was open to everyone.
