Some of the environmental measures accomplished: used energy-efficient equipment operating devices including variable speed motors for most of the washing machines and lifts. used a variable voltage variable frequency (VVVF) drive when replacing the lift drive system. operated steam boilers at two pressure levels – at higher pressure during winter and at lower pressure during summer for the production of steam in laundry and hot water in hotel. used reusable bags made from old washcloths to transport dirty and clean linen for laundry services. collected electrical appliances and used furniture for donation. separated reusable materials arising from renovation for future used in guest rooms. purchased biodegradable, phosphate-free detergents for washing of dishes / utensils and cleaning purposes. implemented soap dispenser in standard guest rooms for replacing plastic bottles of soap and shampoo. worked with suppliers to identify environmentally friendly products that can be substituted for those currently used.
