Some of the environmental measures accomplished:

  • obtained the help from a professional organization to examine the lighting levels, temperature, and electricity consumption in offices and hotel area.
  • provided meals in “cost by weight” principle in staff canteen to minimize the wastage of food.
  • adopted water-based paints.
  • projected an environmental image of Pousada through the service provided to guests, e.g. the use of beautiful handcraft porcelain dispensers for soap and shampoo in bathroom.
  • participated in energy saving workshops.
  • supported the purchase of eco-friendly products.
  • adopted automatic dishwashing detergent, which did not contain NTA (nitrilotriacetic acid) and phosphate.
