![]() Inauguration of the Exhibition on Prize-winning Works The exhibition on prize-winning works of the posters contest "Water for Life" organized by the Promotional Team for Water Conservation was inaugurated on 16th September at 10:00 at the Environment Information Center, whereby 46 prize works were shown. The prize attribution ceremony was held at the same time. Aiming at reinforcing public awareness on water conservation so that local population pay special attention to worldwide water resources scarcity, the Promotional Team for Water Conservation, formed by representatives of the Environment Council, Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Government Information Bureau, and The Macao Water Supply Company, Ltd. launched the posters contest "Water for Life", which covered various topics: the relationship between Man and water, water resources importance; and urgency for water conservation. Among hundreds of received works, some were prized as follows: "Drinking or getting thirsty?" by Wong San Ieong; "Conserve water for everyone" by Eduina Da Silva; and "Chinese magazine" by Wong Chon Hou won the first prizes for Open Group. "Drinking water while thinking of its source" by Chan Wai Chan; "Water resources scarcity" by Wong Ka Seng; and "Sand could be drinkable" by Ieong Sin Fei won the first prizes for students group. Both the inauguration ceremony of the exhibition and the prize attribution ceremony were presided over by the president of the General Council of the Environment Council, Mr. Leong Vai Tac; the president of the Administration Council of Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Mr. Tam Vai Man; the acting president of the Executive Committee of the Environment Council, Ms. Vong Man Hung; the deputy general manager of The Macao Water Supply Company, Ltd, Mr. Fan Xiaojun; and the full time acting member of the Executive Committee of the Environment Council, Mr. Wong Sai Heng. The contest was held within the scope of awareness and education activities on water conservation organized by the Promotional Team for Water Conservation. This entity will promote further and different activities to local residents so as to strengthen awareness works on water conservation. The exhibition was open to the public for 6 days, from 16th to 21st September, from 9:00 to 13:00 and 14:30 to 17:30.
